The beauty ABC: almonds

In the cosmetics industry both cold pressed almond oil and almond flakes are used.

 

Almonds largely contain the following components: magnesium, zinc, phosphorus, iron and carotene, which are responsible for generally strengthening cells. The vitamin E in almonds rejuvenates the skin, eliminates redness and slows skin ageing. Almonds contains other vitamins too, including vitamin A, which maintains the water balance. Vitamin F regulates the function of the sebaceous glands and helps to refine the pores.  The oleic acid in almonds helps to keep the skin in a good condition. It makes skin firm, smooth, soft and moisturised.

 

Now that you know the composition of almonds, it’s time to learn more about their uses. Almond oil is very diverse and can be used by women will all skin types. If you have sensitive skin, the oil eliminates skin irritations, inflammation and outbreaks. If you have combination skin, the oil normalises the water balance, removes T-zone shine and removes flakes in areas of dry skin. If you have normal skin, the oil is mostly used to nourish the skin and give it a soft appearance, to remove microgrooves and make the skin tone more even.

But almond is particularly good for women with mature skin. The high concentration of vitamin E and keratin nourishes and softens the skin. Ground almonds have a great effect on skin. As a mask, it cleanses pores, softens skin and minimises pigment spots.

 

Due to the fats in almonds, they are often used in hair care.  Almond oil nourishes the hair roots, eliminates dandruff, stimulates hair growth and prevents hair loss. The oil can also be used to protect hair against negative environmental influences.  Don’t worry about putting fat and oil on your hair  – the oil regulates the function of the sebaceous glands. So after using a hair mask with almond extract you need to rinse it out thoroughly.

We have a simple hair mask recipe for you: mix one tablespoon of oats with two tablespoons of milk and three tablespoons of almond oil. Wait for 10 minutes and then apply the mixture to your hair.  After 40 minutes rinse your hair with warm water and then wash it as usual with  shampoo. Use this hair mask at least twice a month and you will soon see great results!
