8 tips to prevent hair damage

There are many reasons for split ends, because our hair is exposed to great stresses. There’s no way of solving the problem for good, but we’ve gathered for you the 8 best tips for hair damage.  

 

1. Use an intensive treatment that restores the hair structure and prevents split ends.  Various rich serums, sprays, shampoos and conditioners are suitable for this. 

 

2. Visit the hairdressers every two months. Go to the hairdressers every two months to have 1-2 cm cut off your ends to remove any split ends. This makes your haircut look fresh and beautiful all year. 

 

3. Hairbrush. When buying a hairbrush, make sure that the bristles are made of natural materials. If you have short hair, then you must brush from the roots to the tips. If your hair is long, brush from the ends to the roots.

 

4. Hot water. When washing your hair, if the water is too hot it will make your hair dry, brittle and dull. It’s best to wash your hair in lukewarm water and rinse it at the end in cold water.  That seals the hair external hair layer, giving extra shine.  

 

5.Spread the shampoo well throughout your hair

Are you honest about how much shampoo you use? Probably more than a walnut-sized blob because you need enough for all your hair. But this idea is wrong, because the shampoo should actually only wash the roots and the scalp. Shampooing the length of your hair dries it rather than nourishing it.  

 

6. Cold blowdry. If you really need to blowdry your hair rather than letting it dry naturally, then put your hairdryer on cold to prevent the hot air damaging your hair. 

 

7. Eat foods that contain lots of vitamin E. They include almonds, hazelnuts, dried apricots, seabuckthorn, walnuts, spinach and lingonberries.

 

8. Oil masks. To prevent split ends, regularly apply oil to the lengths and ends of your hair before washing. You can use coconut oil, olive oil or argan oil.
