Eliminate pigment spots!

Freckles are now seen as desirable, and some people even want them artificially added. But pigment spots, which can be light or dark, are unhealthy.

Hyperpigmentation

Hyperpigmentation indicates increased melanin production, which can be caused by various things. UV rays and excessive sunbathing can often be the cause of dark spots. Hormone fluctuations, local infections, skin wounds can also cause hyperpigmentation.

To find the perfect treatment method you should first get your skin assessed by a specialist.

Manifestations

Pigment disorders are a typical manifestation of skin ageing. As you age melanin product can increase or become disrupted. It is usually only evident on the face, between the lips and nose or on the forehead (pregnancy mask)- and then later on the neckline or back of the hands.

Treatment options

Laser: Pigment spots can be removed with laser treatment, such as Fraxel laser. Gentle Pico Sure laser is recommended for treating hormonal hyperpigmentation.
Acid peels: Special peels containing milk or fruit acids are a good alternative to laser. These peels make the skin peel off, which can leave the skin sensitive and thin. That’s why these peels must only be carried out by dermatologists.
Skin care: Our high sun protection provides an indispensable base, as UV rays have a considerable effect on skin hyperpigmentation. To lighten dark spots, use care products with a high content of vitamin C, vitamin B3 or azelaic acid. Extracts of bearberry leaves and liquorice also have a lightening effect. For an intensive effect, these products should be used on the affected areas several times a day for at least 3 months.
