LIPSTICK VS LIP GLOSS

LIP GLOSS

The time when lip gloss was sticky and unpleasant on your lips is long gone. There’s a wide range available now, from transparent to opaque lip glosses. The colours hold for up to 8 hours. Lip gloss gives your lips a wonderful shine so you can look glamorous all day long. The shine makes your lips look fuller and well moisturised. There are also matt lip glosses, called liquid lipstick. They are mostly very opaque and come in the full colour palette from nude to dark. Liquid lipsticks have more hold than lip glosses and some can only be removed with special make-up remover.

LIPSTICK

Lipsticks are known for their hold and coverage. Whatever colour you want and whether it’s for everyday or a special occasion, lipsticks always do the job. The colour palette ranges from nude to black.
Lipsticks contain waxes, which give them better and longer-lasting hold. Some duo-lipsticks, which comprise a lipstick and a top coat, stay in place for up to 24 hours. Whether you apply them the normal way, or dab them on with your finger, everyone can achieve an individual look with lipstick.

THE PERFECT LOOK

For perfect lips you need to make sure they are well cared for first. First use a scrub and then apply a caring lip balm. If your lips have been prepared, draw the contour with a lip liner. That makes sure that the lipstick doesn’t look messy and you don’t lose the contours of the lips. It’s best to choose a colour that is closest as possible to the lipstick colour.
For strong hold a contour pencil should be used to fill in the lips. Modern contour pencils are not as dry as they used to be and provide a perfect base coat for the lipstick. After applying the lipstick you can then use lip gloss. Choose a transparent lip gloss or one in a similar shade to the lipstick. This will make your lips look fuller and shinier.
