Great tips for boosting your metabolism

1. THREE MEALS A DAY 

The main meals - breakfast, lunch and dinner - are essential. Your body is then supplied regularly with nutrients and your metabolism should work optimally. No snacks in between meals

 

2. THE RIGHT COMBINATION 

At every meal you should combine protein and carbohydrates. That will fill you up quicker and keep you full for longer

 

3. HELP YOURSELF!

You can have any amount of vegetables, fruit or raw foods with your meals. It’s a good message for your mind too: I can eat as much of these as I like!

 

4. CHEW YOUR FOOD WELL

If you chew every mouthful well, you’ll taste more and ensure that your food is digested better. Added benefit: you’ll feel full sooner if you chew slowly and well. So you avoid the risk of overeating.

 

5. DRINK LOTS OF WATER

Thirst and hunger are easily confused. So between meals you should drink lots of water or unsweetened tea - at least 2 litres in a day.

 

6. EXERCISE

If you sit down too much you’ll become sluggish and fat. With every step you stimulate your metabolism. 

 

7. BALANCE

Many people eat for comfort when they’re stressed. Instead:  Relax instead with exercise, meditation or a hobby.
