? Are you training abs or hip flexors⁉️ One of the most common myths on instagram is that you can target your lower abs with certain exercises. This is misleading and you often end up working your hip flexors instead of your abs. In this video you’ll see 3 examples of common exercises that’s only targeting your hip flexors VS the exercise you should do if you want to work on your abs! ?? 1️⃣ Laying leg raises. Your abs are not involved in this exercise until your hip angle goes further than 45-60 degrees. Until then you’re only working your hip flexors. 2️⃣ Hanging leg raises. Same as above! It does not matter if your legs are straight or bent if you’re not curving your back. You probably think you’re not strong enough in your core if you can’t do this exercise with straight legs but that’s not the case because you’re not working your abs. Your probably stiff in your hamstrings instead. 3️⃣ Cable Crunches. If you’re trying to hit you abs you MUST curve your back. It’s only when you curve your back you’re abs are working. Keep your hips still and let your abs do all the work! ? ? Final words: I know many of you think a curved back is dangerous and yes, when training most other muscle groups you should keep a neutral back but this doesn’t apply when working abs. It’s not only perfectly safe it’s a must to even get them working. I hope this helps reach your goals quicker ?
