  1. Feet: begin with your feet, because they are furthest from the core of your body. Brush the outer side of your right foot towards your lower leg and then upwards to your hip. Now brush the inner side of your leg to your toes. Repeat the massage on your left leg.
  2. Buttocks: now for your buttocks. First massage the left buttock, then the right. 
  3. Arms: next for your arms. Massage from your right palm on the inner side of your arm up to your shoulder, always with circular strokes. From there brush the outer side of your arms to the back of your hand. Repeat the procedure on your left arm, also brushing the palm and back of your hand. 
  4. Chest: next brush your chest in a horizontal figure eight. 
  5. Stomach: massage your stomach in clockwise motion following the course of the large intestine, from right to left.  
  6. Back: a back massage provides the finale. You’ll need a long handled brush.  

Other tips for a manual brush massage

What’s ideal after a relaxing brush massage? A refreshing shower. Stand under the warm water to wash off the dead skin cells after the massage. The shower has a stimulating effect. A fragrant body oil provides a wonderful end to the brush ritual. Rub cream into your thighs and lower legs to prevent cellulite and don’t forget your fingers and toes.

Is a whole body brush massage suitable for everyone?

Health comes first of course: people with acne, skin disorders, neurodermatitis, thyroid diseases, varicose veins and ulcers should speak to their doctor to check that a brush massage is suitable for them.
