A good sun cream shouldn’t only be in your holiday suitcase, but the right skin care is important before spending any time outdoors. You should choose SPF depending on your skin type - sensitive or fair to dark - and how long you’ll be in the sun. The SPF indicates how much longer you can stay protected in the sun. So the SFP number multiplies your skin’s natural protection against the sun.  For sensitive skin types, the skin’s natural protection against the sun is only 3 minutes.  It’s enough to know the sun protection does not protect you all day from UV rays, but that you need to reapply it regularly. For your body you should use SPF of at least 15 to 25, depending on your skin type, and at least 30 for your face. There is a vast range of products with UV protections, such as sun creams, lotions, sprays. Lotions and sprays are easy to apply evenly and are quickly absorbed.  When applying sun protection you should use a larger amount that you would with face or body cream to protect your skin optimally from UV rays. Sun care products contain not only protection against  UVA and UVB rays, but also skin care ingredients, such as vitamin E, which protects against free radicals and moisturises. They protect against sunburn and calm the skin with ingredients such as bisabolol. A few cosmetics line enhance their sun care products with extra ingredients that accelerate tanning and deepen the tan. Sun care products for the face contain attractive extras, such as protection against pigment spots, giving you an even tan and skin tone. Sun care products for the face with additional anti-ageing ingredients reduce wrinkles, promote skin regeneration, tighten contours and give your complexion a youthful radiance. For sensitive skin types there are special care products for sensitive skin that also protect skin irritation caused by the sun. Oily and mixed skin benefit from oil-free textures such as gel sun protection. Creams are usually richer that lotions and so are suitable for drier skin types.
